Strength

Strength is the ability to overcome a burden (an object, an opponent or your own body) once or more times. It is often referred to as sprinting strength, throwing strength or jump strength and as such it is also developed in such a way (by jumping, by throwing…). However, in the professional field we talk about the maximum strength which involves speed strength and strength endurance. These types of strength depend on:

  • the nervous factors (the capability of the central nervous system to use the muscle in its best way),
  • the muscle factors (the muscle structure and the amount of muscle elements that cause the contraction and develop the power).

This kind of method is especially suitable for preventive exercise and sports injuries’ rehabilitation. Exercise planning should be based on the individual’s analysis and on the establishment of the elements that enable a coordinated and long-term oriented strength development with sports ability.
